Rest Day Rio Frio
Wednesday April 6th
The Rio Frio, located adjacent to our “resort” property. A popular tubing river during the summer season. Waded out to the middle and water temp was very pleasant considering today we struggled to reach 80 degrees.
After breakfast this morning I decided that the successful fix to my noisy free-hub was to get my bike wheel to the local bike shop in Kerrville. Too many little parts and springs that could go missing if our mechanic tried to service the wheel outdoors. Next I had to find a willing staff member to give me a ride to town. Town was Kerrville which is only 73 miles away, our next days stop. This is Texas after all and sometimes you have to drive longer distances to get to the next town. So I emailed the bike shop at 8 AM, but doesn't open until 10 AM. And bang, at 8:30 got a response to bring the wheel to the shop and they would fix it right away. Tom, our head mechanic/ general helper agreed to drive the route and we headed for Kerrville at 11 AM. Long story short we got back here to camp at 3:30 after also having a nice lunch in town. Bike shop was great, all fixed, bike back together and ready to ride tomorrow.
That is great service!!! Well done! Glad your bike is running like a well oiled machine! love the pics!
