Finally arrived in San Diego, Ocean Beach yesterday morning. Flights were all good, and pure Sunshine greeted a bunch of us “coasters” gathering here for Saturdays start. There are numerous groups that do this ride to St Augustine, all start from this little beachside community and this appears to be the best time of year to do this ride. I met 5 riders from our 2020 C2C Covid Ride that shutdown in Tombstone Arizona. I woke up at 4:30 this morning and had to find a breakfast spot since our hotel doesn't serve food anymore. This little outdoor coffee bar opens at 5:30 - Perfect.
This is the bike shop that assembled my bike that was shipped from NY.
Not sure how they can tell where stuff is, perhaps this is bike shop hoarding? Its only one aisle wide yet they manage to assemble and store a lot of bikes for the cross country riders.
I am excited to be here, and getting restless to get this ride moving. Time to check out my bike stuff and go for a shakedown ride.
You sure look ready to roll. Might need a more substantial breakfast tho. Lol. Ding Ding
ReplyDeleteEnjoy the ride, be very careful of those motorized vehicles. JIM is sending his regards, looking forward to a fireside chat after you get home. St. Augustine is a real nice part of Florida. Be sure to visit Flagler college.
