Lockhart TX to LaGrange TX
Sunday April 10th
Nights are getting warmer, barely needed the sleeping bag last night. But we did hear coyotes several times and also some turkeys around daylight. Today was predicted to be another high wind event, so we took off right at 7:30. Normally the higher winds don't start until late morning, so get in as many miles as you can since tailwinds just don't happen when we need them.
Its spring flowering time in Texas. Blue Bonnets, Paint Brushes and Violets?
A field of Blue Bonnets.
Some friendly cows that approached their fence to see why I was there calling them. Probably hungry like I was.We have started to see some of these “oil pumpers”. A couple small ones this morning were actually operating. This big one was idle. The wind was pretty serious late morning, several people complaining about being tossed around by the gusts. Total distance today was 60.4 miles, average speed 13.4 mph, 1,830 feet climbed and 2,092 calories burned. It would be nice to have another calm windless day before we arrive in St Augustine.
You are amazing. The flowers are so pretty
