Kerrville TX to Blanco TX

 Friday April 8th

This morning it was 38 degrees when I woke up.  My automatic alarm failed to wake me at 5:30 so I got in an extra 15 minutes of sleep. This is the inside of my tent, 3 bags, (camping gear, bike clothing & civilian clothes). Plus my end table and camp stool disguised to look like Lowes buckets.  The wolf pack setup crew kept “borrowing” my buckets for tent stakes etc so a week ago I bought them a nice Pink bucket for their exclusive use.  Its a large tent, but necessary to get almost able to stand up headroom and space to spread out and arrange my stuff.

Our campsite last night.  The facilities were a bit spread out, but otherwise a pretty decent local park on the river.

Todays roads were the best biking that we have encountered since leaving San Diego.  Good roads, light traffic and occasionally a friendly tailwind.

This is the Hill Country. All day long, ups and downs, none too steep to easily conquer.

Lunch at a “hillbilly” restaurant in the middle of nowhere.  Excellent Cobb Salad, its important to occasionally consume a healthy meal.  I am getting tired of eating, something I never imagined.

A short day, leads to a leisurely lunch at the 45 mile mark. 59.2 miles today, average speed of 13.5 climbed 2,430 feet and burned 2,120 calories.  A nice day of biking.  Hopefully a similar day tomorrow.
