Comstock TX to Brackettville TX

 Monday April 4th

This is the Amistad reservoir, a substantial reservoir, that I believe is also the Pecos River.  Bridge over the river seemed like it was 2 miles long, with minimal shoulders so our Sag vehicles drove behind us blocking traffic till we crossed successfully.

This gnarly old cat had been abandoned at our campground in Brackettville located in an historic military fort. Very nice camping facility.  Cat enjoyed head scratching and slept in Mens bathroom, greeting me, the first arrival the next morning. The “Campmaster” who had been there for 10 years said he inherited the resident cat, which was fed very adequately by campers and staff. So thus ends another 74.7 mile day, with some headwinds that tapered off during the day. Average speed 11.1, total ascent 1,754 ft, 3,081 calories burned,  high temp of 85+degrees. Warm for this time of year.
